PM of Pakistan inaugurates economic housing project in Sargodha

PM Imran Khan has inaugurated an economic housing scheme under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) in Sargodha. This project is launched with an incentive to construct 1,175 houses at six different locations. Houses will be constructed by Frontier Works Organization (FWO). Bank of Punjab (BoP) will provide the mortgage facility.

Addressing the foundation laying ceremony, Prime Minister Khan said the common man cannot even think of owning a house due to a lack of resources. “We have launched this scheme for the poor and laborers,” he pointed out. He further added that those who could pay a monthly installment of Rs10,000 could own a house in 10 years while those who could pay Rs5,000 every month would become the owner of a personal residence in 20 years.

33,528 applications have been received for this housing project and the houses will be allotted through balloting. 

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed (Housing minister Punjab, CEO BoP Zafar Masud.
